Passports/Visa Process

All London Scholars students will need a passport. Students who do not already have a passport should apply for one as soon as possible, planning accordingly for passport processing times.

CAS and Student Visa Process

All students are required to obtain a UK Student Visa to participate in the London Scholars program before traveling to the UK. UK and Irish citizens are exempt from this process.

Students will need to obtain a Confirmation of Acceptance for Study (CAS) from Northeastern University London prior to making your online student visa application. Additional information regarding the visa process and any documents required from students will be communicated as early as possible.

Group Flights

The London Scholars program offers a group flight at the start and end of the program so you can travel with your cohort. Upon arrival, group flight participants will be guided through the transport process to student housing. At the end of the program, all students depart independently with support from NU London staff.

Reservation forms, itineraries, and additional group flight details will be available in your Application Status Check. Official registration confirmations will be emailed by Advantage Travel after registration closes, and final tickets are sent approximately three weeks before departure.

The cost of the group flight is included in your program fee.

For flight or itinerary questions, contact Advantage Travel at +1.315.471.2222 or [email protected].

Individual Travel

If a student chooses not to take the group flight, they are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from London at the start and end of the program. Students will receive an Individual Traveler Information Collection form over the summer to submit their itinerary for staff awareness.

Students who do not take any segment of the group flight will receive a flight credit posted to their fall bill, equal to the average cost of one round-trip group flight ticket. If students fly any segment of the group flight, the credit does not apply.

Travel Insurance

Consider researching travel insurance that covers trip interruption or cancellation, lost baggage, and personal belongings while traveling or living in the residence halls.
